Each September, Adult Education and Family Literacy (AEFL) Week shines a national spotlight on the life-changing impact of adult education. It's a time to celebrate adult learners, recognize educators, share success stories, and raise awareness about the essential role adult education plays in strengthening our workforce, our communities, and our nation.

America is home to more than 109,000 cities, towns, villages, and counties—each with a unique story to tell.
As our nation celebrates America250, NAFTAE is challenging adult education advocates to secure 250 official proclamations recognizing Adult Education and Family Literacy Week and the life-changing impact of adult education.
Every proclamation is more than a ceremonial document. It's an opportunity to educate elected officials, celebrate adult learners, engage local media, and demonstrate that adult education strengthens our workforce, our economy, and our communities.
Every proclamation tells a story. Every community adds another voice.
Together, we'll show that adult education is woven into the fabric of America—and deserves to be recognized as part of our nation's 250th celebration.
